Old Trafford–Bernabeu: Mourinho Gears Up For £183 Million Three-Man Double Deal

The manager (of the richest football club in the world, the England-based football behemoth, Manchester United), Portuguese-born Jose Mourinho, is allegedly preparing for a ‘£183 million mega deal in double Real Madrid raid on the Bernabeu in Spain.

Recall that Cristiano Ronaldo is not happy with Spanish tax officials. Fueled by anger at more tax evasion talk in Spain, Ronaldo is reportedly trying to engineer an exit from Real Madrid à la Spain. And, Manchester United is preparing for one of the biggest deals in world football that would see Ronaldo return to Old Trafford, according to reports.

Ronaldo, the four-time Ballon d’Or winner, reportedly wants to leave Spain this summer after a spat with Spanish tax officials, and United is interested in the move. What a move this will be!

The football world is still reeling after a week that saw reports emerge from Spain that one of the world’s greatest players, Cristiano Ronaldo, wants to leave the Bernabeu. Ronaldo has allegedly said he wants to return to the Premier League with Manchester United.

If Tuttosport (an Italian sport newspaper published in Turin, Italy) is to be believed, then Manchester United is probably nursing the ‘great idea’ of bringing the 32-year old Portuguese-born wonder football maestro, Cristiano Ronaldo, back “home” to Old Trafford.

Again, Mourinho had already set his transfer-window sights on another Real Madrid forward, Alvaro Morata. And now reports in Italy say United are preparing a mega-transfer that will see them re-acquainted with their former star forward striker.

United’s original summer target was Real Madrid’s ‘redundant’ star forward, Alvaro Morata, who would also be a part of the deal. Mourinho wanted a striker to replace the Swedish-born Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford, and Morata reportedly topped that list.

Real reportedly wanted £70 million for Morata but United will now look to put the 24-year-old Spaniard into a deal with Ronaldo. According to a report by Nicholas Mendola of NBC Sports (referring to the Tuttosport report), in order to obtain both Ronaldo’s services and those of his Real Madrid teammate Alvaro Morata, United is reportedly ready to offer the following to Madrid:

  • $234 million for United’s number one stopper, David De Gea. Real Madrid is also reportedly willing to include Morata in the deal.
  • Manchester United will offer Real Madrid £183m AND David De Gea for Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata.
  • United will offer £183 million (about $234 million) for Ronaldo that would include other exchanges.

Mourinho has already secured the signing of center back Victor Lindelof this summer and has a number of other transfer targets. However, this impending deal (if true) will shake the whole football world to its foundation.

A deal for Cristiano Ronaldo could mean David De Gea finally makes the move to the Bernabeu.

This impending transfer deal with the transfer of Ronaldo and Morata to Old Trafford and De Gea to the Bernabeu appears too goofy to be true – a threesome mega deal of unbelievable proportions – if you ask me!

It is a rumor – as far as I am concerned – but a rumor I am prepared to believe before it becomes reality, all things being equal. Cristiano Ronaldo is coming back to Old Trafford? That will be one of the greatest things that will ever happen to me, and most importantly, to the Theater of Dreams . . .

Up Man U!
