Pogba: The World’s Most Expensive Footballer Goes To Mecca For Ramadan

The world’s most expensive footballer, Manchester United’s midfield maestro, and Frenchman, Paul Pogba, traveled to Mecca to mark the start of Islam’s holy Ramadan Fast. Pogba started his end of season break with a religious trip to Mecca as the month of Ramadan begins.

Pogba’s visit to Saudi Arabia, the country home and custodian of Mecca and Medina, comes only three days after he helped United win the UEFA Europa League, with a 2-1 win over Ajax in Stockholm, Sweden last Wednesday.

The 24-year-old Frenchman took to his Instagram and posted a boomerang of himself swishing round his luggage with the caption: “On my way to go say thank you for this season. See you soon Manchester! En route to my prayers.”

Pogba also uploaded another image of him dressed in white, as he looked to be embarking on a pilgrimage on the holy month of Ramadan as part of his Muslim beliefs.

The France international is taking some time off before returning for pre-season. Manchester United have six scheduled pre-season tour fixtures to be played in the United States and Norway.

The Manchester United and France international scored a crucial goal that helped the Red Devils win the UEFA Europa League (United’s only available route, after loosing out in the Premier League, to the UEFA Champions League next season) with a 2-1 win over Ajax in Stockholm, Sweden last Wednesday.

I wish Paul Pogba “Happy Ramadan” and hope his form, which has been considerably below par with the much-vaunted Pogba football-mystic, will gear-up and shine for the next football season (during his stint at Old Trafford) both in England and continental Europe – in šā ‘Allāh!

UP Man U!
