Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante fired Antonio Conte’s side into the FA Cup semi-finals after United’s Ander Herrera saw red at Stamford Bridge, London on Monday night FA Cup football. Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera was sent off for two bookable offences on Eden Hazard (photo: below) during the first-half. On the sidelines, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte clashed on the touchline for the second time this season after the red card.
In the absence of attacking trio, Swedish maestro Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has a three-match ban, gentle Frenchman Anthony Martial and English captain Wayne Rooney, it was left to teenage sensation Marcus Rashford to lead the line in West London against Chelsea. The youngster was named in the starting line-up alongside Henrikh Mkhitaryan by boss Jose Mourinho – alas, Rashford couldn’t do much.

The Blues ousted the Red Devils from the FA Cup match played on the turf of Stamford Bridge in Fulham, London on Monday night. Chelsea defeated a 10-man Manchester United 1-0 to proceed to the FA Cup Semi-Final matchup against Tottenham Hotspur in the competition’s last four, with Arsenal being paired against Manchester City. Those ties will be played on 22 and 23 April at Wembley.

Herrera’s red card changed the game and United couldn’t match the rampaging Chelsea players who took advantage of the depleted United side. The red card came too early and that turned the game in Chelsea’a favor.
GOAL!!! CHELSEA 1 UNITED 0

Boss Jose Mourinho spoken to the BBC and the first question was about the referee’s decision to send Herrera off in the first half. “I don’t talk,” the manager told Dan Walker. “I want to say that I’m really proud of my players, I’m really proud of Manchester United fans and we have a very important match on Thursday [against Rostov] and I want to rest a little bit to try to prepare the team as best we can for the Thursday match and that’s the most important thing.”
After the match Mourinho walked straight onto the pitch at full-time to meet his players and embrace them following a tireless display against Chelsea. He is clearly happy with their efforts – I think?
Manchester United is out of the FA Cup – beaten again by Chelsea! The question is – when will Manchester United beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge? When? Well, Manchester United couldn’t beat Chelsea on their own turf and I was devastated – to say the least. What can I do . . . ?
Up Man U!
