Manchester United iconic defender, Rio Ferdinand, believes that the boss, Jose Mourinho, has finally found the winning formula to get the best out of United’s very expensive world-record summer-signing Frenchman, Paul Pogba.
Mourinho (photo: right), who signed the egoistic Pogba (photo: left) in August, 2016 for a whopping £89 million ($109 million), has recently thought it fit to deploy Paul Pogba alongside midfield maestro, Michael Carrick and in form Ander Herrera in the midfield for Manchester United.
Ferdinand told MANUTD website:
“I think you have seen a better balance in the midfield, so hopefully we can start motoring on now.
That has been a problem in the past in terms of working out where the balance is and who the best partnerships and combinations are, and I think he may have found that in those three.
It frees up Paul, who is a bit more of a maverick, and means he can roam a bit more.”
Has this deployment in the midfield paid off? I think Rio Ferdinand is right but has that changed my pessimistic opinion about Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford?
Time shall tell . . .
Up Man U!
