Lindelöf to play final match for Benfica ahead of Man United transfer
According to a former teammate Victor Lindelöf will be on his way to Manchester sooner than later. Robin Blomme, who played with Lindelöf at Swedish side Vasteras, has tweeted that Lindelöf will move to Old Trafford for €45 million. Blomme’s tweet said that Benfica’s match against Rio Ave on Wednesday will be the 22-year-old’s final game for the club.
Victor Jörgen Nilsson Lindelöf (born 17 July 1994) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Portuguese club Benfica and the Sweden national team.

Lindelöf began his career in Sweden at Västerås SK, making his debut in September 2010. In December 2011, he agreed to move to Portuguese club Benfica, initially representing the club at youth and B levels. After making his first team debut in September 2013, he continued to appear for the club at B level, while also winning two Primeira Liga titles.
Lindelöf has represented Sweden at under-17, under-19, under-21 and senior levels. He was a member of the under-21 side that won the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. He made his senior international debut in March 2016 and represented his country at UEFA Euro 2016.

Victor Lindelöf is predominantly a centre-back according to Benfica method of play but can also operate at right full-back. The Swede will have to compete with defenders, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo for a place in Jose Mourinho’s defensive lineup in the Premier League and other matchup competitions in Europe.
The Swedish defender looks to be heading to Manchester United (Theater of Dreams) with the player’s agent confirming there was an offer on the table. However, personal terms are yet to be agreed on but that looks like a formality, with Lindelöf set to earn a huge pay rise at Old Trafford.
