Jesse Lingard Shares Footage of Team Mates Hiding For Their Dear Life
Manchester United frontman Jesse Lingard shared footage of his team mates cowering in their team bus as it was attacked by West Ham fans ahead of Tuesday’s evening’s Premier League clash at Upton Park.
The Hammers’ bid farewell to their historic home Upton Park home with a 3-2 victory, but the occasion was marred by ugly scenes outside of the stadium as United’s bus was subjected to a barrage of bottles and other objects thrown by West Ham fans – forcing the 7.45 pm kick-off time to be delayed until 8.30 pm.
United youngster Lingard posted a video clip through social media showing players inside the coach, including Michael Carrick, Anthony Martial and Adnan Januzaj, ducking for cover between the aisles clutching their camera phones amid expletive-filled reactions.
I think that the FA should look into that football hooliganism perpetrated by the West Ham fans and apportion appropriate penalty to West Ham. Those attacks may have set a precedence in the Barclays Premier League and other football competitions in England. Next season West Ham must come to Old Trafford to play United.
United fans are the most disciplined football fans in the world – that notwithstanding, the Hammers must be punished to dissuade any future occurrence of football hooliganism and similar attacks on visiting football teams.
Up Man U!
