It’s all over – a disappointing defeat for the Reds in North London as Tottenham strike three times in quick succession during the second half to claim the points.

A final substitution for Spurs, as Mason replaces Alli.

In the aftermath of that chance, Alli is booked for diving. Sixty seconds left here.

90+2: Save! De Gea makes another stop, this time from Dembele, after the midfielder was found in the box.

90: We’ll have a minimum of four added minutes at the end of the second half.

Spurs make a third and final change, as Son comes on in place of Kane for the final few minutes.

That will be the last of the action for Lamela, as he’s replaced by Chadli.

86: Close! Tottenham almost score again, as Lamela drills a shot across goal; Kane meets the ball but can only hit the post.

Ashley Young receives a caution for a late challenge on Rose in the United half.

84: There’s a bit of an altercation taking place on the far side involving Memphis, but it’s unclear what caused it from here. The referee handles the situation well, though, and we’re back under way.

82: Tottenham break and create an opening through Lamela, but the winger curls his shot wide after cutting in from the right. Just eight minutes remain here at White Hart Lane.

81: Rojo tries to get United back into it with a strike from 20 yards, but it deflects wide, and Spurs clear the corner.

79: Save! De Gea prevents Alderweireld claiming his second and Spurs’ fourth, tipping the defender’s header over the bar superbly before punching the resulting corner clear.

78: The Reds just can’t get hold of the ball at the moment, and have been made to pay with those three goals in quick succession. Spurs have a free-kick here, and will want a fourth…

Unbelievable. With United still reeling, Spurs score a third through Lamela, who fires a low shot into the corner. That’s surely game over.

Disaster for the Reds as, from the resulting free-kick, Alderweireld rises to head past De Gea.

Matteo Darmian goes into the book for tripping Kane in the United half.

72: Well, Alli’s goal is a big blow for United, who were keeping Tottenham at bay well until that point. With 18 minutes remaining, can we respond?

No! Tottenham had threatened an opener, and they’ve got it through Dele Alli, who converts Eriksen’s low cross from inside the area. United have it all to do.

Darmian comes on in place of Fosu-Mensah, who has been superb this afternoon.

67: Van Gaal’s taking no risks here – Matteo Darmian will soon join the action. Let’s hope the change slows Tottenham’s momentum, they’re on top now.

65: The youngster is back on the pitch and looks fine to continue for now. United may need him in the final 25 minutes, with Spurs on the attack.

63: Chance! United almost find a breakthrough as Martial goes on a great run, cutting into the box before forcing Lloris into a save. That’s easily the closest we’ve come. Meanwhile, Fosu-Mensah is down and in need of treatment.

60: United register an attempt on goal through Lingard, who cuts in  before firing comfortably wide of Lloris’ left-hand post. This is better from the Reds.

56: The Reds work the ball short to Schneiderlin, whose cross is headed clear by Alderweireld. Both defences have proven tough to break down here.

55: Another half-chance for the home side, as Kane receives the ball on the edge of the box before turning and firing an effort towards goal, but it’s straight at De Gea. At the other end, United have a corner…

53: Spurs have started at a higher tempo than they did in the first period, with the likes of Alli much more involved in midfield. Ander Herrera is now warming up in front of us here.

51: Different half, same Fosu-Mensah. The defender dives into a challenge and comes away with the ball, before De Gea is forced into a save from Eriksen.

48: A note on that substitution and what it means for the Reds’ set-up: it looks like Martial on the left, Mata on the right, and Lingard behind Young. It will be interesting to see how that affects the game.

46: We’re back under way. Come on, United!

There’s the change, as the winger enters the game.

The players are back out, and it looks like Ashley Young is set to come on for Marcus Rashford.

Elsewhere, it’s currently Liverpool 3-1 Stoke. A reminder that it finished Sunderland 0-2 Leicester in the early kick-off.

Possession: Tottenham 41% United 59%

Shots at goal: Tottenham 4 United 2

Shots on target: Tottenham 0 United 0

Corners: Tottenham 1 United 3

There’s the whistle, as a competitive first half comes to a close, with the sides level. Fosu-Mensah, Eriksen and Lamela have all hit shots at goal, but the game remains in the balance.

45: We’ll have one minute of added time at the end of the first half.

44: Close! The midfielder fires in a cross from the set-piece, but the ball evades everyone in the area, and the Reds clear the danger.

44: Clever play from Kane earns Spurs a free-kick on the right. Eriksen is standing over the ball – this is a dangerous situation as far as United are concerned.

41: With Alderweireld applying pressure by the corner flag, more good defending from Rojo earns United a goal-kick, to chants of ‘Argentina’ from the away end.

39: Tottenham seem to have lost some of that momentum they’d built up in the previous 10 minutes. With just over five minutes to go until the break, can either side find a goal?

34: Unlucky; Martial turns away from two defenders but can’t find Rashford with his through-ball. It’s been a game of ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ so far.

32: The Reds earn a much-needed breather as Rojo draws a foul on the edge of the United box. Spurs are moving through the gears now, and look the more likely.

30: What a tackle! Spurs go close again, as Walker races into the box and is about to pull the trigger, but Fosu-Mensah comes flying across to block excellently. A great piece of defending from the youngster.

28: Chance! Tottenham almost take the lead as De Gea spills a cross and the ball eventually falls for Eriksen, who chips the ball towards the far post, only for Lamela to head wide. The offside flag was raised, in any case.

27: Spurs are camped on the edge of the United area here, keen to create chances of their own. The Reds have some defending to do…

24: The Reds are turning on the style now! First Schneiderlin sets Rojo away with a great backheel, before Rashford spins away from his man on the touchline with a superb piece of skill. It’s the scoreline that counts, though, and we’re still goalless.

22: Chris Smalling is winning everything against Harry Kane at the minute, though the Spurs bench think he’s done so unfairly on a couple of occasions. The United defence have looked solid so far.

19: Mauricio Pochettino looks a little concerned by what he’s seen in the first 19 minutes or so. He’s just come flying out of his seat to bark orders at his players, who are growing into this game.

17: From nothing, the hosts win a corner, as Smalling diverts a low cross behind. Play is eventually pulled back for offside, though De Gea made a great save from the in-form Kane.

15: Quarter of an hour gone, then, and United will be happy if the game continues like this. As I type, Rashford runs at the Spurs defence, but his pass to Lingard is cut out at the crucial moment.

13: Spurs clear the danger after successive corners, but United are still on the front foot here. The Tottenham fans are trying to get their side going, but Louis van Gaal’s game plan is working so far.

11: Fosu-Mensah registers United’s first effort on goal, racing down the right wing and cutting inside before seeing his shot deflect wide. The Reds have a corner…

08: The Spaniard’s delivery reaches Martial, who can’t pick out a red shirt with his volleyed pull-back. That was a promising situation for United.

07: It’s the Reds who are doing the pressing here, without really creating much of note just yet. Marcus Rashford has earned United a free-kick, though, which Mata will take…

05: Marcos Rojo is seeing plenty of the ball in the opening stages here. Moments ago, he almost managed to set Anthony Martial away down the left, but his pass was slightly over-hit.

03: As expected, it’s a brilliant atmosphere here in North London, and United are looking to keep the ball early on to quieten this Tottenham crowd.

02: A couple of early touches here for Tim Fosu-Mensah – what a big day it is for the young defender. Can he impress again today?

01: We’re under way at White Hart Lane!

Up Man U!
