Liverpool vs Manchester United: 4 Classic Matches

The biggest fixture in world football has certainly lived up to its billing these past three decades. I picked 4 of the best throughout that time, like I said (in my opinion), ahead of Sunday’s fixture at Anfield. Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool, 2014 If ever there was a game that signified the magnitude of United’s collapse under Scottish man David Moyes, it was this.

Now back to the impending Sunday clash at Anfield

Michael Carrick will miss Manchester United’s Barclays Premier League trip to Liverpool on Sunday through injury, but Adnan Januzaj could be named on the bench.

Carrick hasn’t played since making an injury-time cameo against Swansea City in the first game of 2016. That was his 400th Reds appearance but he will not have the chance to add to his 20 outings against the Merseysiders for United.

Louis van Gaal revealed to MUTV that Januzaj could be involved this weekend following his return from a loan spell with Borussia Dortmund.

Louis Van Gaal also confirmed that midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and defender Phil Jones are making progress from their respective knee and ankle problems, but they remain doubtful for the Anfield clash.

We need to beat Liverpool on Sunday to move up on the Premier League table. I can’t wait for the Sunday clash at Anfield . . .
