Man United Fans Should Be Strong

This is a call for all true Manchester United fans to be resilient, steadfast and strong in the face of obvious humiliating and devastating defeats by clubs we should’ve defeated without blinking an eye.

After spending more than £150 million on world-class players like Anthony Martial, Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Darmian Matteo, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Morgan Schneiderlin, Sergio Romero etc., it appears we have nothing to show for it.

Louis van Gaal arrived at Manchester United with an outstanding record of success, first in his native Netherlands, where he took the Netherlands to the World Cup and performed creditably well at some of the biggest clubs in the world.

As a manager he has won league titles in three different countries, guided a youthful Ajax side to UEFA Champions League glory, as well as lifting the UEFA Cup. His second stint in charge of the Dutch national team ended with the Netherlands making the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup, a run which included a magnificent 5-1 win over holders Spain.

Under Van Gaal we switched from David Moyes’ 4-2-3-1 formation to a bolder 3-5-2 and the question remains whether we succeeded with that formation or not? Maybe we did not.

With what our club spent this season, we shouldn’t be where we are at the moment. I am downcast but in the midst of that, I want all Manchester United fans to be the true red devils that we are.

It’s painful, I know, but a good friend has always been that friend in need – especially when it matters most – and that time is now!

Please red devils, let us all come together and persevere – even in the face of adversity and the imminent realization that we may not win this season’s Premier League – especially after crashing out of the UEFA Champions League so ignominiously.

It’s not yet time to jettison the flying Dutchman, Louis Van Gaal, the way Chelsea sacked Jose Mourinho. No! Not yet!! Van Gaal is building a future Man United team after the retirement of the greatest football manager in the world: Sir Alex Ferguson. Sir Alex was there for more than two decades (27 years) but it wasn’t easy for him at the beginning. Van Gaal deserves more time to fix the problem – I’m sure he can fix it.

Please, let’s continue to support our club – Manchester United – and all that the historically successful club stands for – and I can assure you – Man United stands for a lot of things. Please! Please!! Please!!!

Manchester United fans, red devils, red brigades, champions, lets be strong!

Up Man U!
