Van Gaal wants Cristiano Ronaldo

The indefatigable Flying Dutchman, Louis Van Gaal, wants Cristiano Ronaldo!

Van Gaal has confirmed he wants to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford – the ‘Theater of Dreams’.

Portugal forward Ronaldo left Man United for Real Madrid in 2009 for a then world record £80m fee and has become the Spanish side’s top goalscorer.

There are reports, most of them bordering on speculations, that the 30-year-old superstar soccer maestro is set to leave Madrid for the mostly ‘bucolic city’ of Manchester.

“We are looking at all players, not just Ronaldo. But these players are mostly un-gettable,” said Van Gaal. “With Ronaldo, let’s wait and hope.”

Ronaldo has won one La Liga title, a Champions League crown and two Spanish Cup titles in just over six years in Real Madrid.

Before moving to Madrid, he won three Premier League titles, one Champions League, one FA Cup and two League Cups in six seasons at United under then manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

He moved to Manchester United for £12.24m from Sporting Lisbon in 2003.

Ronaldo scored 118 goals in 292 appearances for United.

Does Man United require Ronaldo? I believe so, though many Man United pundits prefer Gareth Bale of the same Real Madrid to Ronaldo.

I think that in terms of performance, attacking prowess and longevity, the Portuguese man is more talented and usable than the Welsh man.

This latest news about the reds wanting Ronaldo may be hovering around the periphery of hearsay, gossip or plain conjecture – if you ask me. Do we really need Cristiano Ronaldo?

This is a resounding, YES !!!

Up Man U!
